30 pear trees planted at 9/11 Memorial in Kewaskum

October 23, 2020 – Kewaskum, WI – Landscapers were busy digging holes at 8 a.m. on a crisp Tuesday morning this week planting 30 pear trees at the 9/11 Memorial in Kewaskum, 1308 Fond du Lac Avenue.

The trees are being spaced out in a circle around the steel beam beam recovered from the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

The trees stand about 12 to 15 feet tall; each had its roots wrapped tight in a burlap ball.

Outside of the tree line, circling the memorial, will be brick pavers with names of individual sponsors and organizations.

According to the 9/11 Memorial website “the memorial will serve to honor not only those who perished, including a Kewaskum Graduate – Andrea Lyn Haberman, but also all those who responded to the atrocity of 9/11.​”
