4 receive Allenton Legion Post 483 Hometown Hero Awards| By Ron Naab

April 4, 2026 – Allenton, Wi – At the April monthly meeting the Allenton Legion Post 483 presented its annual Hometown Hero Awards.

Lt. Chad Kohler of the City of West Bend received the Edward R. Ormsby Law and Order award.

Lt. Kohler was nominated by long time American Legion member Wally Kohler, Chad’s grandfather. Lt. Kohler is a bright light leading the West Bend Police Department with a dedication to continue to learn to be a better police officer than he was.

Lt. Ben Wolf of the Allenton Vol. Fire Department was awarded the outstanding EMT of the Year Award.

Wolf is an inspiring young man with 5 years of service with the Allenton Fire Department. Wolf is a fourth generation firefighter from the Albert Wolf family. He is involved in the leadership of the Allenton Fire Department.

Nate Grimm of the Slinger High School Social Studies Department received the Past National Commander, Denise H. Rohan Educator of the Year Award.

Grimm has been a leader in the Slinger School District promoting our veterans, veterans causes. He especially has been very involved with getting students involved with Wreaths Across America and Stars and Stripes Honor Flights.

Second Vice Commander Ron Naab received the “Gung Ho” Veteran of the Year.

Has been a huge contributor to the Allenton area as a 60 year member of the Allenton Fire Department and a 50+ year member of the Allenton American Legion.

All four were also notified that they received their respective awards at the American Legion Washington County Council which will be presented in June.

Presenting the awards was Commander Chris Klein-Wassink along with Ron Naab, Chair of the Awards Committee.
