$56,000 in scholarships awarded to 2 Kewaskum HS seniors

April 27, 2023 – Kewaskum, WI – Kewaskum seniors Morgan Adams and Mackenzie Steiner were each awarded a $28,000 scholarship.

Scholarship Each J.O. Reigle Scholarship recipient is awarded $28,000 to be applied to any area of study at a 4-year accredited institution.

Morgan Adams is exploring a career path in biology and plans to attend University of Wisconsin -Madison.

During her four years at Kewaskum High School, Adams has been active in the Key Club, Student Council and Spanish Club, and has served in leadership roles with the National Honor Society and Peer4Peers.

She also has been a member of the varsity basketball team and varsity soccer team all four years. Adams has spent countless hours volunteering in community with the local food pantry, blood drive, Enchantment in the Park, Kettle Moraine Gardens, and youth soccer and basketball camps. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, playing piano, and going on hikes.

Mackenzie Steiner plans to study astrophysics or physics at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.

 

While at Kewaskum High School, Steiner has served in leadership roles with the Key Club, National Honors Society and American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Badger Girls State. She is the founder of the Rocket Club at the high school and qualified for NASA student launch program twice, placing in the top 5 both times.

She also has been a member of Peer4Peers, Spanish Club, Builders Club and Honors Band. She was active on the tennis team and chess team.

Her community involvement includes volunteering at the American Legion food stand at the Washington County Fair, a local church, and at the Kewaskum Police Department. Her hobbies include reading, baking, writing, and playing the piano.

Both students demonstrated academic excellence as well as impressive achievements in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.

The awards will be presented during the Kewaskum High School Honors Ceremony on May 10.

Established in 1963 in honor of the late J.O. Reigle, to provide graduating Kewaskum High School seniors opportunities to pursue their passions and contribute back to the community through career growth and involvement.
