March 28, 2022 – West Bend, WI – There’s a gold medal champion in West Bend, WI and he’s only 6 and a half years old.
Asher Hall is in Mrs. Raddeman’s kindergarten at St. John’s Lutheran School in West Bend.
Asher competed recently in the junior Olympic boys’ gymnastics state meet and placed first in the individual all-around to win the gold medal. His team, Salto, located in Brookfield, also took first place at state.Â
During a one-on-one conversation at his kitchen table, Asher ran through the events he participated in at state. “I have to do floor, high bar, parallel bars and vault,” he said.
Vault was his favorite. “Because it’s pretty easy for me,” said Asher. “You have to get far and then you run and then you jump up on the springboard and then you land.”
Questioned about his vaulting performance, Asher described it as “doing a little good.”
Sporting spikey hair, Asher smiled through the entire conversation.
