Advisory referendum passed in FDL on placement of sex offender

Fond du Lac County supervisors unanimously passed an advisory referendum Tuesday night opposing the placement of Milwaukee County sex offender Clint Rhymes, 51,  in a residence in the Town of Eldorado.
But the resolution went a step further opposing the placement of any non-county sex offender in a Fond du Lac County home.
A Milwaukee County judge today could make a decision on Rhymes placement. The state Department of Human Services has withdrawn its request to place him in Eldorado.
Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney said although the state’s Department of Health Services is dropping its request to place a violent sex offender in the Town of Eldorado it’s, “Not a done deal yet, but it’s definitely a positive sign.”
A Milwaukee County judge today will hold a hearing on the placement of Rhymes. The DHS is asking for 90 more days to look for another place for him. A contingent from Fond du Lac County will attend the hearing.
