VIDEO | Successful Allenton & St. Lawrence FD open house and pancake breakfast

Allenton, WI – There were rave reviews for the Allenton Fire Department / St. Lawrence Fire Company open house and pancake breakfast.

The event drew hundreds of families and friends from the community for eats and an education during National Fire Prevention Week.

There were hands-on activities for the kids as volunteer firefighters helped them work the nozzle on the firehose to put out a mock house fire.

Volunteers also helped administer fun Sparky the Fire Dog tattoos and Jim Sprouse with Property Loss Management quizzed the kids on the correct way to exit a house fire. “Do you hide in the closet,” he asked.  His young student shook her head no, as she eyed a tub of candy. (watch video)

Firefighters also showed the dangers associated with using a turkey fryer especially if there’s too much cooking oil.

The West Bend Free Masons Lodge 138 donated a FST, fire extinguishing device to the Allenton Fire Department.
Ten 2 Communications of Slinger and Fire Suppression Systems donated to the St. Lawrence Fire Company and Allenton Fire Department a personal safety LED light system to help with traffic control on the roads call the Guardian Angel.

There were plenty of pancakes, sausage, applesauce, milk, juice, and coffee.
