West Bend, WI – For the past 39 years Slesar Glass has held onto the northeast corner of Sixth Avenue and Hickory Street. Following in the footsteps of Van Beek Motors, the Slesar family, Frank, Joe and Paul spent generations in the red brick building installing windows and doors across the community.
In mid-2018 Paul Slesar put the building, 109 and 111 N. Sixth Avenue, up for sale and November 17, 2020 the parcels sold for $500,000 to Joshua Haas of Fredonia.
Haas kept the name of the business the same and grew the tradition of excellence, which has been in West Bend, WI since 1949.

“We’ve completely run out of room here, for what we want to do in the future and where we’re going,” said Haas. “We’ve identified where we’d like to be and we’re currently working on that.”
Haas made it clear, Slesar Glass will still remain a viable business in the community.
“We’re not leaving the West Bend area and we’re not going out of business,” he said. “A lot of people initially were concerned about Paul Slesar but everyone here has just embraced us and I want to stay in the fabric of the community and at the same time we see the opportunity to do a lot of things.”
One of the plans for the future is to merge Haas’ garage door business, Door Professionals, with the Slesar Glass business.
The listing for the 8,000-square-foot property will be published shortly.
The asking price is $815,000 for the parcels 109 and 111 N. Sixth Avenue.
Haas has identified the property for his new location and he is currently in the works. “We’re looking at industrial warehouse space with a little retail/office,” he said.
As far as the move is concerned, Haas said he’s known since November 2021 that something had to change. “Last year it became pretty apparent that I couldn’t squeeze any more out of this than what we currently have concerning equipment, parts and it was just too much for this space to handle,” Haas said. “We’ve tapped out our space here and we have to go somewhere else.”
Stay tuned for the second half of this announcement.
