Annual Memorial Day Parade in West Bend will kick off at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 31 | By James Maersch

West Bend, WI – West Bend’s Memorial Day observance will be held Monday, May 31, 2021.

Line up for the parade will be on S. Main Street between Oak Street and Decorah Road.  Line up times are 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. with the parade stepping off at 9:30 a.m.

Below is the 2018 Memorial Day Parade in West Bend.

The parade will end at the Veterans Plaza on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Poplar Streets. The program will begin approximately 10:30 a.m.
“The purpose of the Memorial Day and program is to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” said Chairperson Steve Rohde. “As a result, there will be no commercial advertising, tossing of candy or handouts along the parade route.”

The Memorial Day Program will include Scott Mindell as Master of Ceremonies.  Joel Hausmann will lead the audience with the song “God Bless the U. S. A.”
Opening and closing prayers will be led by Rev. Luke Love of the First Baptist Church.
The Preamble to the Constitution will be recited by Mason Falk. MaKayla Weddig will recite the poem, “In Flanders Field,” followed by Madison Cheryn reciting the Gettysburg Address.
The guest speaker will be retired Judge Andrew Gonring who stepped down from Washington County Circuit Court March 28, 2021.
Gold Star families will be honored at this event.
The public is welcome to attend and asked to bring their own chairs and observe social distancing.
