Apples, salsa, and sweet corn at the Allenton Farmers’ Market | By Ruth Marks

July 26, 2017 – Allenton, WI – Traffic was light but steady at the Tuesday afternoon Allenton Farmers’ Market.
Customers appreciated the chance to talk with the farmers.

Ray Schmidt had Yellow Transparent apples and apple juice. He said he’ll have them probably another week, then it’ll be about three weeks before the Miltons and Paula Reds are ready.

John Schwendi had a good variety of flowers and vegetables. He is expecting to have sweet corn in another week; two at the most.

Renae Honey Danielson had her jams, pickles, relishes and salsa. Her enterprising young daughter made brownies and lemonade to sell, along with some jewelry.

The Allenton Farmers’ Market is Tuesday’s from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. in the parking lot across from the elevator on Highway 33. If you’re westbound and go over the railroad tracks… you’ve gone too far.
