December 28, 2023 – West Bend, WI – Armand P. Miller, 82, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at his residence. He was born May 9, 1941, in West Bend to Armand C. and Esther (nee Gruetzmacher) Miller.

On May 15, 1965, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Joyce Polster at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mayville.

Armand proudly served in the U.S. Army and National Guard from 1964-1969. Following his discharge, he worked for the West Bend Company for 25 years before working at Fleet Farm in West Bend as the manager in the tire department until his retirement in 2000.

He played the upright bass in quite a few local polka bands for many years. He was also talented in the kitchen and enjoyed making a dried hot pepper blend that was not for the faint of heart and the most delicious beef jerky for family and friends.

Armand was an avid collector spending many days with Joyce going to rummage sales. He enjoyed spending time and going to lunch with his lifelong friend Tom Foshag. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family, whether it was going to rugby matches that his sons competed in or all the events his grandkids and great grandkids were involved in.

Armand was a lifetime member of the Fred A. Schaefer Post 1393 V.F.W. in West Bend and was a member of the NRA. He was very proud of his gun collection. He was also an avid Packer, Brewer, and NASCAR fan. Going to the Slinger Speedway on a Sunday afternoon was always a favorite pastime when he was young. He continued that love of cars by attending classic car shows around town.

Armand is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce, 3 children: Tony (Heather) Miller of West Bend, Kelly (Paul) Anderson of West Bend, and Jason (Stephanie) Miller of Rockford, Il, and 9 grandchildren: Tiffany (Marcus) Biskobing, Grace Miller, Jack Miller, Casey Anderson, Michael Anderson, Justin Anderson, Kristin Anderson, Brandon Miller, and Jonah Miller. He is further survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Marlene (Ronny) Steinbach of Mayville, Florence Polster of Rubicon, Dorothy Steinbach of Iron Ridge, and David (Michele) Polster of Mayville, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Armand and Esther Miller, his 3 brothers Donald Miller, Jerry (Char) Miller, and Tom Miller, and 2 brothers-in-law Floyd Polster and Herold Steinbach.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2023, at 1 p.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 809 S. Sixth Avenue, West Bend, WI, with Pastor Stephen Reynolds officiating. Entombment will take place in Washington County Memorial Park. The family will greet visitors on Friday, at the church from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.
