May 25, 2026 – West Bend, Wi – Every once in a while, you run across a guy that has the perfect blend of character traits that make him a natural born leader. It’s been 22 years since I joined the “Pridemore for Assembly Campaign” and I’ve been “all in” since then, serving as a staffer at the State Capitol and then as editor of the Wisconsin Conservative Digest. I can tell you that true leaders are very rare and Bernie Newman is a natural born leader – he’s running for the 58th Assembly District and his timing is perfect.
Traits that make Bernie Newman a natural leader.
Honesty – No one ever leaves a conservation with Bernie wondering if he was being, what we on the street would call, “straight-up.” Bernie will tell you what he thinks and why he thinks it. He can do it without fear of reprisal because his thoughts never contain a drop of vitriol. Hence, he doesn’t need to pause his thoughts to come across as kind and sincere, because he just is.
The 58th Assembly District is mainly comprised of West Bend, Jackson and Slinger
Temperament – Anyone who has attended one of Bernies events (Common Sense Citizens of Washington County) has watched in awe as Bernie has allowed ALL voices to be heard. He has never said an unkind word to those who do not share his views. Those of us who are passionate beyond reproach would love to have just a sliver of Bernie’s disposition.
Conservative – Bernie is not only conservative, but he is a conservative fighter. He just does it differently. He does it with patience, and kindness. It comes easy for him because he IS patient and kind. Thus, he needs no extra effort. Bernie’s conservativism checks all the boxes. He’s Pro-America. He’s Pro-Life. He’s Pro-Business. He’s for less government and less taxes. He understands government spending “crowds out” private spending. The bigger Wisconsin’s budget, the small our paychecks. He understands welfare needs to be a safety net and not a lifestyle. The list of conversative principles Bernie will fight for goes on and on.
Bernie Newman is the perfect ambassador to communicate family-based, conservative solutions to ALL the people of the 58th Assembly District. I see the movement growing very quickly and no one, AND I MEAN NO ONE, can win over a larger majority of people than Bernie Newman. When you meet him, you’ll agree wholeheartedly! I guarantee it!
