Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County appoint new Executive Director

May 17, 2018 – Washington Co., WI –  The Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County announces the appointment of Jaymee Harvey Willms as Executive Director effective Monday, May 21, 2018.

 

Harvey Willms most recently served as Unit Director, Boys and Girls Club of Washington County/Hartford as well as Art Director, Boys and Girls Club of Washington County/West Bend.  Harvey Willms replaces outgoing Executive Director Mary Gamerdinger.

 

Jaymee Harvey Willms brings a robust wealth of experience, infectious energy, and creative innovation to BBBS as the organization begins its next phase in the chapter’s long history of serving youth and the Washington County community at large.  “We are confident Ms. Harvey Willms can provide the leadership necessary to carry out the strategic vision and mission of the organization,” said Dave Kohlmann, Big Brothers Big Sisters Board President.

 

An accomplished artist, Harvey Willms also has an extensive background in education as an adjunct professor at prestigious institutions including the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, The Art Institute of Wisconsin, and Supplemental Instructor of Art History at the University of South Dakota.

 

The newly appointed Executive Director received her under graduate degree in Fine Arts and History from the University of South Dakota and her Master of Fine Arts from the State University of New York.

 

“Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County sets high standards when it comes to showing the children and youth of Washington County that their community cares. Big Brothers Big Sisters is recognized as one of the most effective prevention based mentoring programs in the United States.   The organization’s mission is “to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change lives for the better, forever.
