Campbellsport man charged with tax fraud | By Bob Nelson

June 27, 2017 – A federal court trial is scheduled in August for the 69-year-old Campbellsport man charged with tax fraud. Robert Spoerl, owner of J & R Tax Service in Kewaskum, is charged in a 28-count indictment. Federal prosecutors say from 2011 to 2015 he filed more than 100 false tax returns seeking more than $150,000 in federal tax returns. Victims were allegedly given an accurate copy of their tax return, which Spoerl did not file. He paid them what they were owed, but allegedly pocketed the extra money from inflated numbers he filed. The trial will begin August 3.
