Obituary | Carol A. Leitheiser, 82, of West Bend, Wi

October 4, 2025West Bend, Wi – Carol A. Leitheiser, 82, of West Bend, Wi, went to her heavenly home Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum.

 

In the weeks leading up to her passing she was blessed with abundant visits from her beloved family and friends.

She was born on November 15, 1942, in West Bend, the daughter of Clarence and Mae (nee Koll) Guse. On June 24, 1961, Carol was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Leitheiser at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend.

Carol was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.

Ken and Carol moved to Kewaskum where they raised their five children. Over the years they enjoyed camping and traveling and eventually moved to Florida for a time where they met many new friends. They returned to Wisconsin in retirement to reconnect with old friends and enjoy being grandparents and great grandparents.

Carol became the ultimate sports fan. Packers and Brewers of course, but first and foremost a fan of all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would travel anywhere at any time to watch them participate. It was her greatest joy.

Those left behind to cherish Carol’s memory include her sons Scott (Tisha), Ric (Amy), Tim (Sandy), Brian (Becky), her son-in-law Mark Mommaerts, her grandchildren Tony (Megan) Leitheiser, Eric Leitheiser, Stephen (Esther Van Der Hoef) Leitheiser, Alex (Emily) Leitheiser, Matt (Katy) Leitheiser, Maggie (Trevor) Blazei, Jacob Leitheiser, Mikaela (Michael) Prochnow, Kaitlyn and Grace Leitheiser and Zachary, Isabella and Benjamin Mommaerts, her great-grandchildren Kinley, Haelynn, Grant, James, Woud, Nora, Landen, and Avery, her brothers Ron (Jan) Guse and Dan (Lois) Guse, her sister-in-law Barbara Baka, other relatives and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth on October 23, 2015, her daughter Maureen Mommaerts, her grandson David Leitheiser, her parents Clarence and Mae, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Louis and Angela Leitheiser, her sisters-in-law Marilyn (Harold) Klug and Diane (Harley) Ekvall, and her brother-in-law James Baka.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 9 at 12:00 Noon at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. Eighth Ave. West Bend Rev. Russ Arnett will officiate, and inurnment will be at a later date at Holy Angels Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 9 at the Holy Angels Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass.

The Leitheiser family extends a special thank you to all who provided their love, care, and support for Carol.
