The International Skating Union recognized my consistent coverage of Stolz and when I applied for a World Cup media pass it was quickly approved.
On to Canada. Leaving Wisconsin temps at 10 degrees above zero Calgary made that feel like summer as temps here are about -26.

This will be a unique tour as I’m without a bicycle, but will make do on a great adventure.

Fatigued with preparation I fell into my normal nervous traveler routine.

At security I asked the woman if I had to take off my pants. First I thought I kept that in my head, then I watched her face and determined quickly one of us said it out loud.

She was dry and polite. “No thank you,” she said kindly. “Just your shoes and belt.”  Good grief.
