June 19, 2023 – West Bend, WI – Neighbors in West Bend, Wi who witnessed a high-speed two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon, June 16, 2023, on S. Main Street at 6:09 p.m. were shocked nobody was killed.
According to West Bend Police Lt. Brian McAndrews:
On 06/16/23 at 6:09 p.m. officers responded to the 1000 block S. Main Street for the report of a traffic accident.

The investigation determined; a 21- year-old man was traveling northbound on Main Street having accelerated rapidly from the traffic light on Main Street at Vine Street.
A 72-year-old man was traveling southbound on Main Street intending to turn left into the Dairy Queen parking lot. The man started to complete his turn unaware of the excessive speed being traveled by the northbound vehicle.
The 21-year-old’s vehicle struck the 72-year-old man’s vehicle.
Debris from the collision travelled toward the sidewalk and made contact with a tire of a bicycle being ridden by a 16-year-old female.
The two men declined medical attention at the scene and the 16-year-old was treated by West Bend Rescue for non-life-threatening injuries.
The 21-year-old man was issued a citation for reckless driving.
