June 4, 2021 – West Bend, WI – The organizers of Thursday’s music events in West Bend are regrouping after a threat forced the cancellation of two concerts including one at Regner Park and the other in downtown West Bend.
A concert was set for Regner Park but around 4 p.m. a couple people discovered suspicious devices and police were called. After a thorough search the devices were deemed nonthreatening. Nobody was injured; police are still investigating.
Mike Christian is with The Hometown Foundation. “As an organization and as individuals, we have many thoughts and emotions about last night,” he said. “We are relieved our community, vendors, performers, crew and our team members are safe. We feel the same for our neighbors at Music on Main.”
Christian praised the quick work of law enforcement and said the weekly Thursday night show will go on with the next event slated for June, 10. “We are working to reschedule the cancelled event. When the details are finalized, we will share the details with our community and partners.”
Dist. 4 alderman Randy Koehler said, as a community he expects to move forward.
“I can assure you our Police Department will do everything in its power to find the source of this threat. We as a community will stand strong and move forward in the safest way possible. Do not let this deter us from celebrating the many wonderful events coming up,” Koehler said.
