November 3, 2020 – West Bend, WI – Doris Joyce Bergemann (nee Schultz) 82 of Poy Sippi, WI passed away on October 30, 2020 at Kathy Hospice in West Bend, WI.
Doris was born on November 23, 1937 in Milwaukee, WI to Carl and Lydia (nee Kaun) Schultz. She graduated from Washington High School and worked for 20 years in the Anesthesia Departments of West Allis Hospital and Froedtert Hospital. On April 7, 1956 she married Paul Bergemann and they raised their four children in Wauwatosa WI before retiring to Poy Sippi.
Doris liked to sew and created many beloved dresses for her young daughters and herself. She was a life-long knitter making well-remembered mittens for her children as well as hundreds of hats for shelters. Doris loved to travel and took many trips in the U.S. and to Ireland where she enjoyed meeting new people and exploring new places.
She will also be remembered for her home cooking, baking, fun-loving spirit, and kindness to everyone she met.
Doris will be dearly missed by the children who cherished her; April (the late Jeff) Truman, Alan Bergemann, and Cindi (Ryan) Wendt. She was a wonderful grandma to Paul, Andy, and Aaron Bergemann; and Jack and Luke Truman. She will also be missed by brother-in-law Jerry Bergemann and sister-in-law Norma Schultz.
Doris was preceded in death by Paul, her husband of 64 years; son Cliff, parents, brothers Lorenz Schultz, Neil (the late Ruth) Schultz, Donald (the late La) Schultz, sister-in-law Shirley (the late Dick) Stelmach, grandparents Frank and Bernadine (nee Naumann) Kaun, and Gustav and Hulda (nee Uecke) Schultz.
