July 3, 2021 – Germantown, WIÂ – Andrew McDonough, a junior at Germantown High School, has been in Scouting since he was 7 years old.
It has been a goal of Andrew’s to be an Eagle Scout since his early days in Scouting.
In June, Andrew and the volunteers of Troop 271 delivered six rocking chairs, three side tables, and a game table, including a truck load of supplies to the newly opened Kathy’s House in Wauwatosa.
Andrew collected supplies he gathered from the community, Troop 271, and the Key Club from Germantown High School.
Kathy’s House is a hospital guest house committed to providing affordable lodging and caring support in a home away from home.
It is a nice environment for people who need to travel to Milwaukee for medical care.
Andrew was inspired by his Dad who had a double transplant in 2018 and many other surgeries and treatments at Mayo Clinic. Andrew’s Dad has stayed in the Gift of Life House in Rochester, MN, many times.
Andrew knows firsthand the obstacles his parents have gone through during this journey.
Andrew has chosen this project as a dedication to his father and to those suffering from life threatening diseases.
