April 29, 2026 – Fond du Lac, Wi – On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at approximately 9:23 a.m., the Fond du Lac Police Department responded to a reported single-vehicle crash in the area of W. Scott Street and northbound I-41.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office also responded and located the involved vehicle in the highway median north of Scott Street. The driver, a 79-year-old man from North Fond du Lac, was found inside the vehicle.
He was removed and provided medical care on scene by Fond du Lac Fire Rescue before being transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Preliminary information indicates the vehicle was traveling westbound on W. Scott Street when it proceeded through the four-way stop at N. Pioneer Road.
The vehicle then left the roadway to the north, traveled down a hill toward I-41, and became airborne over the northbound lanes before coming to rest in the median.
Based on the initial investigation, it is believed the driver may have experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash.
A second vehicle sustained minor damage; however, no occupants were injured.
This incident remains under investigation. No additional information is being released at this time.
