Washington Co., Wi – There were several last-minute filings on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, as candidates looking to enter the Spring Election raced to collect signatures, fill out required paperwork and submit everything before the 5 p.m. deadline. Below is a list of local government races across Washington County, Wi.
In the City of Hartford, two incumbents filed non-candidacy including Mayor Timothy C. Michalak and District 1 alderman Joseph Fulop who filed his notice December 16, 2024.
Two former aldermen will face off in the race for Hartford’s next mayor. Joseph Fulop and Dennis Regan will vie for the seat previously held by Mayor Timothy Michalak.
The incumbents in District 2, Wayne Rusniak, and District 3, Justin Webb will run unopposed. In District 1 Thomas Pechacek will face Erin Wilk.

There will be a Primary Election on February 18, 2025, in West Bend, WI as three candidates filed to run for alderman in District 2.
Candidates in alphabetical order include Rhett Engelking, Riley Hansen, and Mike Hartwell.
The even-numbered districts are up for election in April 2025 and according to the clerk’s office, three incumbents in Districts 4, 6, and 8 also filed to run again.
In District 2, incumbent Mark Allen filed non-candidacy in December 2024.

There will be a primary election in the Village of Jackson as seven people filed papers for three Trustee seats on the Jackson Village Board. The Village President and three trustees are elected at the annual spring election in odd-numbered years.
In the Village of Germantown Trustee, District 4 incumbent Phil Hudson resigned his office effective January 15, 2025. The vacancy will be filled by a special election on April 1, 2025.
A special primary election for Trustee in District 4 will be held on February 18, 2025.
In the Village of Kewaskum the Village President and three (3) Village Trustee positions will be on the April ballot. The top three candidates will serve a term of 2 years.
There are three seats on the Village Board in Richfield up for election in April 2025 including Village President John Jeffords and two Trustee seats: Tom Wolff and Pam Schmitt.
Town of Barton
Town chairwoman Kris Turner will run unopposed in the April 2025 Spring Election.
Town of Erin
In the Town of Erin, incumbent Dean Schober filed non-candidacy papers on December 26, 2024, and will not run for Town Supervisor.
Town of Polk
There are two supervisors and the town board chairman up for election on the April 1, 2025, ballot in the Town of Polk, Wi.

There are two supervisors and the town board chairman up for election on the April 1, 2025, ballot in the Town of Jackson, Wi. All seats for the incumbents are uncontested: Chairman – Bob Hartwig; Supervisors: – Dave Behringer and Marcy Bishop.
Town of Trenton
In the Town of Trenton incumbent town Chairman Mike Lipscomb will run unopposed as will supervisor Barb Davies. Supervisor Ed Doerr is stepping down after 30 years and Tony Thoma filed paperwork to fill that spot. He is uncontested.
Town of West Bend
There are two supervisors and the town board chairman on the April 1, 2025, ballot in the Town of West Bend, WI. All incumbents will run unopposed including town chair Troy Zagel, and supervisors Mark Wagor, and Steve Lindley.
Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election. If you do not have a photo ID you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.
