Felony charges filed against 2 men following Mavis Tire armed robbery in West Bend, WI

March 21, 2024 – West Bend, Wi – A 50-year-old Campbellsport man and a 48-year-old Franklin, WI, man are both facing four felony charges in connection with an armed robbery February 10, 2024 at Mavis Tire on S. Main Street in West Bend, WI.

Court records show Jason J. Heisler and Donald Phillip Heisler appeared in February and March in Washington County Circuit Court. Cash bond was set at $150,000 for Donald Phillip Heisler and at $75,000 for Jason Heisler.

Each Heisler is facing three felony charges of armed robbery as a party to a crime and a fourth felony charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. On February 26, 2024, Jason Heisler posted bond. Jason Heisler has a hearing before Judge James Muehlbauer on April 24, 2024.

February 11, 2024 – West Bend, WI – West Bend Police arrested one man following an armed robbery Saturday afternoon, February 10, 2024, at a business in West Bend.

On 02/10/24 at 5 p.m., the West Bend Police Department responded to a business in the 1300 block S. Main St. for an armed robbery.

West Bend Detectives identified the actor as a 50-year-old Cambellsport man. No customers were in the business at the time of robbery.

West Bend Investigators secured a search warrant and the man was located at his residence with assistance from the Fond Du Lac County Sheriff’s Department and Campbellsport Police Department.

According to authorities in neighboring Fond du Lac County, “Saturday night Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies converged on a residence on West Main Street in the village of Campbellsport. West Bend Police Department was investigating an armed robbery involving a firearm that occurred earlier in the day and informed our agency they had information to believe the suspect was at the Campbellsport residence. The suspect had recently been released from federal prison after serving a lengthy sentence, and because of his violent past and use of a firearm in the recent robbery, our armored vehicle was also deployed to the village. While West Bend PD worked to secure a warrant and a SWAT tactical strategy was being planned, the suspect left the residence in a vehicle and deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and turned over to the West Bend Police Department. Deputies were assisted by officers from West Bend PD, Campbellsport PD, and the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations working together to take this violent suspect into custody safely.

The man was placed in the Washington County Jail for a charge Armed Robbery.

According to the latest West Bend Police Department monthly report from December 2023 is below. It shows two robberies in 2023 and one in 2022. No word if there was a weapon involved in either of those incidents.

On a history note: Taking a look back at the history of armed robberies in West Bend, WI.

December 2014 – Husar’s House of Fine Diamonds was robbed at gunpoint. Nobody was hurt during the incident.  It was September 2015 when five suspects were taken into custody.

In October 2015 there was an armed robbery that happened at 8:32 p.m. at the Chocolate Factory, 1402 S. Main Street. Police said one person entered the store and displayed a handgun in their waistband. The person wore a ski mask and got away with an undetermined amount of cash. Nobody was injured and as of 11 p.m. Saturday nobody was in custody.

In 2015 there was also a robbery at Pat’s Jiffy Stop on Decorah Road and a robbery at the Landmark Credit Union. At the time Lt. Paul Pokorski said these types of incidents normally “go in spurts.”

Two people were taken into custody in connection with the Jiffy Stop robbery and police caught the man in connection with the armed robbery at the Landmark Credit Union.
In December 2017 there was an armed robbery at the Citgo in Barton.
In February 2017 there as an armed robbery at the KFC on W. Washington Street in West Bend, WI.
