Work is underway to remove the former Ziegler Bridge on the far north end of Veterans Avenue. The pedestrian bridge extends from Service Drive over the Milwaukee River. It’s being replaced by a new bow truss bridge. A first look at the plans are below.
According to plans the bridge will have a concrete deck with prefabricated steel trusses that will be painted white. The demolition of the Ziegler Bridge and construction of the new bridge are being completed by Janke General Contractors.
