Fond du lac, WI – The City of Fond du Lac Police Department continues to keep the Waukesha community in our hearts as we have been preparing to hold our own Christmas Parade of Lights. After careful consideration, the City of Fond du Lac (FDL) has decided to proceed with our Christmas Parade of Lights on December 4, 2021.
Fond du lac Police Department (FDLPD) has worked collaboratively with the parade organizer, FDL Fire/Rescue, FDL Department of Public Works, WI State Patrol, and the FDL County Sheriff’s Office to provide a safe gathering for our community. The WI Army National Guard will also be present to assist with the landing zone for the Blackhawk Helicopter. FDLPD will continue with our safety plans to include high visibility of public safety vehicles and personnel along the route.
The Christmas Parade of Lights will follow its planned route moving southbound on Main Street from E. Rees Street to Western Avenue. The parade route will block or restrict traffic across Main Street from 2 p.m. until approximately 6 p.m. All cross-traffic along Main Street will be shut down. Additionally, traffic restrictions will be in place on S. Macy Street, Western Avenue, and S. Marr Street. Please plan your travels accordingly.
This year’s parade will step off at 4:15 pm at North Main Street and head south towards Veteran’s Park where Santa will deliver his holiday greeting and light his very own tree. A true holiday classic.
“Home for Christmas” is this year’s theme. A salute to American Heroes: U.S. Military, First Responders, and Frontline Workers.
We look forward to seeing everyone on December 4, 2021, for the Christmas Parade of Lights.
