Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Deputies deal with weapons call, crash and fire | By Lt. Eric Halbach

April 12, 2023 – Fond du Lac Co., Wi – The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department dealt with a number of issues on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.
Dundee Incident
On April 12, 2023 at 2:37 p.m., the Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of an intoxicated male at Dins Garage and Mini Mart who was in possession of multiple firearms and threating to cause damage to Downtown Dundee.
Fond du Lac Sheriff
Law Enforcement Officers responded to the area and located the male, a 52-year-old Campbellsport man, in the residence attached to the gas station. Prior to the Deputies arrival, the subject was removing firearms from the residence and loading them into his pickup truck. The subject was taken into custody without incident.
The subject was out on bail in Fond du Lac County for Resisting or Obstructing an Officer and Disorderly Conduct.
The subject was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail for the following charges: Terrorist Threats, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, OWI 2nd, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Disorderly Conduct, Armed with a Firearm while Intoxicated, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Agencies assisting at the scene were the Wisconsin State Patrol, Campbellsport Police Department, and Campbellsport Ambulance.

USH 151 Crash
On April 12, 2023 at approximately 4:25 p.m., the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 2-vehicle crash on USH 151 south of County Road AS, in the Township of Waupun, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.
The investigation shows that a southbound vehicle rear-ended a slower southbound vehicle that was hauling farm machinery. No injuries were reported in this crash.
While Deputies were investigating the first crash, a southbound passenger car was rear ended by a southbound semi. The semi and the passenger car received significant damage and were towed from the scene. The driver of the passenger car, a 38-year-old Madison women and her infant child, were transported to Waupun Hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the semi, a 31-year-old women from Custer, Wisconsin was not injured.
The driver of the semi was cited for Following Too Closely. The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
Cornfield Fire
On April 12, 2023 at 5:21 p.m. the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office along with the Eden Fire Department were dispatched to the area of W3194 County Road F, in the Township of Eden, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin for a report of a corn field on fire.
The investigation shows that the farmer who rents the land, Jeffrey Zimdahl, was cutting corn stalks when a spark from the farm machinery started the field on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished by the Eden Fire Department.
Approximately 10 acres of corn stubble burned during the fire. No one was injured during the fire.
