Fond du Lac man, 39, convicted of killing 2 in drunk driving crash | By Fond du Lac Co. D.A.

February 16, 2024 – Fond du Lac Co., Wi –  Adam L. Richardson, 39, was convicted of two counts of Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle – with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration after pleading to the charges.

According to Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric J. Toney the convictions stem from a drunk driving crash in Fond du Lac County on February 26, 2022, which killed two occupants in the vehicle. Judge Anthony Nehls revoked bond, ordered a pre-sentence investigation, and a sentencing date has been set for April 29 at 1:30 p.m.

“We continue to see the devastation that drunk driving causes in our communities and our thoughts and prayers go out to the families that have lost a loved one in this crash,” said Toney. “We hope these convictions assist others in making the right decision to find a sober ride home to help ensure everyone gets home safely to their loved ones.”

The defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 30 years of initial confinement and 20 years of extended supervision.

This case was investigated by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Catherine Block.
