VIDEO | Garage fire on Morning Glory Drive in Town of West Bend | By Lt. Hope Demler

October 3, 2020 – Town of West Bend, WI – On Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 2:22 p.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a garage fire, at 4960 Morning Glory Drive in the Town of West Bend, Washington County.


Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies and the West Bend Fire Department responded to a report of a garage fire. Initial reports indicated that an attached garage was filled with black smoke. The residence is a single family 2-story home.

The residence was occupied at the time of the fire. The occupants were able to evacuate safely. The homeowner was able to close all the garage doors to restrict the spread of the fire to the main residential area.

Fire personnel arrived on scene and extinguished the fire and hot spots fairly quickly. Fire personnel conducted overhaul to verify the fire did not reach the interior of the home.

The fire was contained to the garage, however, the interior of the residence sustained smoke and water damage.

Estimated structure damage is approximately $85,000. The origin and cause of the fire is under investigation by the West Bend Fire Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Personnel from the following fire departments responded: West Bend, Jackson, Newburg, Kewaskum, Allenton, and Kohlsville. WE Energies assisted on scene. The American Red Cross will be assisting the displaced family.

The homeowner was evaluated on scene for smoke inhalation. No fire or police personnel were injured.
