Germantown Village Administrator calls special meeting tonight to handle issue concerning Fire Chief

March 19, 2018 – Germantown, WI – Village of Germantown Board will move into closed session tonight to discuss a personnel issue.

“We are currently working through a personnel issue with Fire Chief Gary Weiss,” said Village administrator Steve Kreklow.

“He is currently on leave from his position and there is a closed session item on the Village Board Agenda for this evening and my hope is that after the meeting we will have more information than I’m currently able to provide.”

Weiss was hired May 24, 2014.

Kreklow said Weiss was out of town at a conference out of state last week.

The Germantown Fire Department is fully staffed with a deputy chief and captains. “Everything is operating as normal,” said Kreklow.

The Village Board meets at 7 p.m. tonight.
