Great community support for Good Shepherd Church food drive | By Kathy Balser

West Bend, Wi –  Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 777 S Indiana Avenue, in West Bend, WI, collected nearly 5,000-pounds of food during its recent Faith in Action Day. About 30 parish members, several who brought their entire families, show up on a rainy Saturday morning to pick up the food after requests were issued the week before.

It was a beautiful site to see the cars pulling up to our church doors with red bags full of food.  The Full Shelf Food Pantry reported the donation amounted to 26 barrels totaling 4,910 pounds of food.
That is over 1,000 pounds more than Good Shepherd collected last year.
We are grateful to the West Bend community for its generosity. Many families will have food in their homes as a result of this drive.
We also thank our church members who contributed food, assembled bags, knocked on doors and picked up food. We are blessed.
