Got my Christmas gift from the city, how about you? Was your property tax bill what you expected…. or more?

Dec. 11, 2016 – West Bend, WI – Neighbors across Washington County who went to fetch the mail on Saturday got their annual property tax statement.

Last Thursday a link was posted on http://www.washingtoncountyinsider.com on how to find your property tax bill for 2016.

Comparing 2015 to 2016 – the state went up 2.4%, Washington County was up 1.4%, and Moraine Park Technical College went down .1%.

The school district and city tax varied depending upon the community you live in.

In West Bend the city tax went down .1% and the West Bend School District was up 1.5%.

The lottery-tax credit for this year is $109 which is a bit more than last year, $92.02.

The first-dollar credit is $57.96, which is a smidge more than last year, $56.96.

My property assessments remained the same and I believe it’s going to be 2018 when West Bend will be reassessed, but let me check with the city assessor on that.

So, thoughts on your 2016 bill? Up, down, same… where you pleased or were you a little shocked?
