Graduate of Kettle Moraine Lutheran H.S. among 3 people killed in helicopter crash in Oneida County

April 28, 2018 – Washington Co., WI – A 1993 graduate of Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in Jackson was one of three people killed in a helicopter crash last Thursday, April 26 in Oneida County.

 

Greg Rosenthal, 43, was a flight paramedic with Ascension Wisconsin Spirit Medical Transport.

 

Rosenthal and his team including Air Methods Pilot Rico Caruso and Flight Nurse Klint Mitchell were killed when their helicopter went down in a wooded area in Hazelhurst which is about 150 miles northwest of Green Bay.

 

Rosenthal was from Mosinee, Wisconsin.  His funeral arrangements are being handled by Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home.

 

A press release said Caruso, 34, was from Hazelhurst, Wisconsin, and Mitchell, 30, was from Watersmeet, Michigan.

 

According to the Federal Aviation Administration “the helicopter left Madison and was on its way to Woodruff when it crashed about 12 miles south of its destination.”

 

The Associated Press reported the men had flown a patient to Madison and were returning home when the accident occurred.

 

According to reports “the National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA have taken over the investigation.”
