Shortly after 3 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025, multiple people called 911 to report the crash.  The investigation thus far showed the sedan was westbound at a high rate of speed, and was overtaking other westbound traffic, as reported by multiple callers who had observed his reckless driving.

The car was overtaking a westbound car, in a no-passing zone, on a curve, when it lost control, entered the right ditch striking a row of trees and overturning.

The driver was trapped in the car and extricated by the fire department.  He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital to await a medical helicopter, which took him to a trauma center with suspected serious injuries.

Excessive speed and alcohol use were the primary factors in the crash.

Also responding to the scene were the Beaver Dam Fire Department and Paramedics and Flight For Life.
