Hartford Union High School is excited to announce John Redders, current Assistant Football Coach and Boys Head Track Coach as our new Head Football Coach for the 2016 season.

Mr. Redders has been with HUHS since 1995 as a physical education teacher and coach. He brings with him 20-years of Oriole pride where he has worked hard to support the head coach and will continue to carry on the great traditions that HUHS holds.

Mr. Redders is a Hartford resident that has had two daughters graduate from HUHS and a son that will be at HUHS in a few years.

His motto for the team this year is “working on a championship while building character” and he will be joined by a few returning stand-outs including running back Ryan Zuern who was named first-team all-conference, all region team, and the Journal Sentinel all-area team; Jared Baizley who was named first-team all-conference; and Quinn Meinerz who was named to the second-team all-conference for both offensive line and defensive line.

Mr. Scott Helms, the HUHS Athletic Director said he “is excited for John to bring new and positive energy to the Hartford football program. He is well known for his strong rapport with our students both on and off the field.”
The current students that are a part of the football program were told that Coach Redders would be leading the team as Head Football Coach on Tuesday afternoon and are very excited for the future of Hartford Football.

Coach Redders stated, “I consider it a great honor to be asked to lead the football program at Hartford Union High School. I am proud of the tradition that Hartford has and I look forward to working with our community, parents, and the youth football program to create some positive energy in our football program.  My challenge for the current and future candidates of our program is to get better every day as a person, student, member of the community, and as a football player.”

HUHS is very excited for the leadership and direction that Mr. John Redders will bring to the football program.
