Hartford to hold Open Book on recent reassessments | By Steve Volkert

Hartford, WI – The 2021-22 revaluation process in Hartford, WI is on schedule for a Fall release. After doing the walk around inspections on all of the residential and commercial properties throughout the City, they will now build their models on market rates for the given properties.

Hartford open

All property owners will be receiving assessment notices on or before September 9, 2022 with Open Book held on Thursday, September 29 from 10 a.m. -7 p.m. at City Hall. Finally, Board of Review will be held on Thursday, October 27.

It is expected that all properties will see a 10%+ increase in value based on recent market changes. However, keep in mind that assessed value increases across the board does not necessarily mean increase in taxes.

Taxes are based on your increase versus everyone else’s. If your property goes up a larger percent then the average, then you might see an actual tax increase.

Revaluations are a state mandate when a community gets below an acceptable threshold vs the equalized value. Hartford is and has been below that threshold the past two years.
