Participation in Hartford recycling program increases State grant money | By Steve Volkert

Hartford, WI – Every year, the City of Hartford applies for a recycling grant through
the State of Wisconsin. This is provided to every municipality based on how much weight of recyclable material you collect and send forward to be recycled.

This year, the city is receiving $24,415 which in turn, helps as revenue to reduce how much tax money Hartford needs to collect.

This is why every resident should diligently work to reduce items in landfills. By properly recycling all materials that can be recycled, it increases the City’s total weight which in turn increases how much we receive in this grant process. The more Hartford receives in revenues, the less tax monies needed.

More importantly, it reduces garbage in landfills which helps to keeping the planet clean.
