Hartford/Slinger, WI – The City of Hartford and Village of Slinger will activate the sirens at the 11thĀ hour on the 11thĀ day of the 11th month on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. to honor our veterans on Veterans Day.

The day marks the anniversary of the end of World War I.Ā  Each year we honor ALL veterans by sounding the sirens for 15 seconds.

Veterans Day is recognized annually through a variety of ceremonies at local schools and in public squares across Washington County, WI.

Ceremonies generally carry similar messages to honor veterans who served in theĀ United States Armed Forces.

The United States previously observed Armistice Day. The U.S. holiday was renamed Veterans Day in 1954.
