October 3, 2022 – Hartford, WI – Hartford Utilities, the community’s locally owned, not-for-profit electric utility is celebrating 125 years.
Hartford Utilities is a proud member-owner of WPPI Energy, a not-for-profit wholesale energy provider, and joint action agency. The utility’s milestone anniversary received recognition at an awards ceremony during the WPPI Energy Annual Meeting on Sept. 15, 2022, in Middleton, WI.
“I’d like to extend my congratulations and appreciation to Hartford Utilities for 125 years of
service to their community,” said WPPI Energy Board Chair Jim Stawicki. “It’s a significant
milestone and we’re happy to celebrate it with them today.”
Brian Rhodes, Director of Utilities for Hartford Utilities, and Mike Thimm, Utility
Superintendent, were also honored at the annual meeting, receiving recognition for completing the Joint Action Leadership Certification program. The multi-year curriculum
helps utility leaders deepen their knowledge of the joint action model, enhances unity
among WPPI Energy members and promotes member engagement.
“Our utility is owned by the local community, and I think that’s a big strength,” said Hartford Mayor Timothy Michalak. “This milestone anniversary gives us the opportunity to reflect both on what has brought us to this point and what we want to achieve in the future.”
