VIDEO | Jackson Police Officer Kyle Henning resigns | By John Walther

October 17, 2020 – Jackson, WI – Jackson Police Officer Kyle Henning has resigned after 12 years of dedicated service.

Officer Henning received the Award of Valor in 2016 for his response to an armed suspect.

He also received a lifesaving award in 2018 for his actions in rescuing a child at risk of drowning. Henning was named the American Legion Post 486 Police Officer of the year in 2018 and received a citation from the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

From the Jackson Police blotter:

Early Sunday morning, Jackson Police responded to a report of a bar fight at a local establishment involving several people, two reporting substantial injuries. A female adult received medical attention for a broken nose and a chipped tooth and an adult man for a chipped tooth, large laceration on his face, and a concussion. The matter is under investigation.

Police are also investigating a report of a gunshot through a television set which occurred at 1 a.m. Thursday, October 15, 2020. A resident reported her ex-boyfriend was sleeping on her couch. He woke up and fired a shotgun round through her television. No injuries were reported. The suspect reported that he had been drinking alcohol and must have woken up in a semiconscious state and shot the TV.
