West Bend, WI – In an effort to recognize academic achievement, personal growth and dedication to Christian values Holy Angels School in West Bend, WI highlights three students of the month of November 2022 including 6th Grade: Elin Winkler, 7th Grade:  Kara Hesse, and 8th Grade:  Alex Matenaer.

6th Grade: Elin Winkler

Elin is one of the nicest kids you will ever meet. She always has a smile for everyone and is kind to her peers. Her teachers know they can count on her to work diligently and productively in any and all groups. She is a hard worker and takes pride in turning in quality work and always showing up prepared for class. Elin follows in the family tradition in this way, and in being a good volleyball player. Her says her favorite subject in school is English and when she grows up, Elin says she would like to be a meteorologist

7th Grade:  Kara Hesse

Kara is a conscientious student with a strong work ethic who particularly likes English class.  Her teachers agree she always turns in complete and quality assignments in all of her classes. She is a respectful and kind person, always willing to help out. Although she is quiet and a little shy, Kara is willing to try new things, and has joined the crocheting club. Kara loves to play soccer and basketball, and like many people her age, hasn’t decided what she wants to be when she grows up.

8th Grade:  Alex Matenaer

Alex describes himself as “loud” and most would agree he is not afraid to speak his mind.  Alex enjoys debating and is always willing to give an opinion. These qualities make him an obvious leader and he chooses to lead in good ways. Alex works hard in class and is willing to try something more than once in an effort to get it right. He is also willing to help out. You can find him holding a door open, serving at mass, and helping out with the younger kids as a patrol.  Given his personality, it may not surprise you that he would like to be a criminal attorney one day.
