6th Grade:Â Alex Kandel
Alex is a smart kid who genuinely enjoys learning and making connections. His teachers like his thoughtful participation and responsible attitude toward school. While his favorite class is gym, he puts effort and shows interest throughout all his classes. He stands out among middle schoolers by always exuding calm (although he is not above wildly waving a sheet around to simulate water in the school musical). He handles life’s challenges with maturity. Like many of his peers, Alex enjoys playing video games outside of school.
7th Grade:Â Jack Walter
Jack seems to be completely in control at all times. He is intelligent, and schoolwork comes easily for him, but he is willing to be challenged to go above and beyond. He combines artistic talent with academic skills to produce excellent work. He is respectful, responsible, and efficient. Surprisingly, he reports that he doesn’t really enjoy any particular subjects in school. He wants to be a football player when he grows up. Jack helps out by being an afternoon walker patrol.

8th Grade:Â Grace Barnett
Eighth graders are notorious for finding middle school boring as they near graduation. However, Grace continues to show a positive attitude toward her peers, her teachers, learning, and school in general. She is putting full effort into her role in the upcoming musical and supporting other singers around her. Grace’s teachers appreciate her push to continuously improve and the effort she puts into learning. Grace helps out by guarding the 3rd graders as an end-of-day patrol. Grace likes strawberries and wants to grow up to be a hairstylist.
