April 20, 2024 Honor Flight: US Air Force veteran Loren Doll of Germantown, WI

Washington Co., WI – Washington County, WI – On Saturday, April 20, 2024, Air Force veteran Loren Doll, 86, of Germantown, WI, will be joining 5 other Washington County vets on the Stars & Stripes Honor Flight to Washington D.C.


Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, Inc. honors veterans with a life-changing trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials and experience a day of honor and thanks.

Doll served in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960 with the Secret Service as an intercept radio operator. He spent 18 months in Okinawa, then did a short stint in Scotland where Doll said, “I didn’t like the weather.” He then went to Tripoli, N. Africa before returning to the United States.

Doll worked for many years as a truck driver for UPS. He has five children from his first marriage and three from his second marriage to Judy, which is going strong after 43 years.

Together they have 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Doll’s stepson, Jeffrey Martin of Twin Lakes, WI will be Doll’s chaperone on the Honor Flight. Martin is also a veteran having served 30 years in the US Navy.

“I’ve heard this is going to be the best day of my life. I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of places I’ve never been. I believe it will be a very busy, interesting day,” said Doll.

Stars and Stripes Honor Flight is the Milwaukee area hub of the Honor Flight Network.  Founded in 2008, Stars and Stripes Honor Flight has flown more than 7,600 WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans from southeastern Wisconsin on a one-day, all-expense-paid trip to Washington D.C.
