$375,000 damage following house fire in Town of Addison | By Sgt. Brandon Hood

May 24, 2026Town of Addison, Wi – On May 24, 2026 at approximately 1:05 a.m., a Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy located a house fire in the 5100 block of Highway 33 in the Town of Addison. The deputy was able to ensure everyone was out of the residence safely.

Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene along with the Allenton Fire
Department. Allenton Fire upgraded the call to a working still.

Property loss management

The Allenton Fire Department was assisted by West Bend, Slinger, St. Lawrence, Kewaskum, Kohlsville, Hartford, Jackson, Newburg, Theresa, and Iron Ridge Fire Departments and Lifestar Ambulance. Red Cross responded to the scene to assist the homeowners.

Initial investigation indicates the fire started at the rear of the house. Both occupants were able to evacuate
the residence. Initial estimate of loss to the residence was $375,000. Highway 33 was closed for approximately
two hours to accommodate fire suppression efforts.
