Human trafficking story claimed untrue by West Bend Police

September 11, 2020 – West Bend, WI – There was a post on social media making the rounds in the West Bend area this week now police are sayig it is not true. The update is below.
On Wednesday, 09/09/20, the West Bend Police Department was made aware of a social media post which reported a citizen had been the victim of stalking and had been advised by the West Bend Police Department that the arrestee was involved in human trafficking. Prior to this post, the West Bend Police Department was not aware of this complaint. As soon as we were made aware of the post, we immediately initiated an investigation. The subject of the post was identified and interviewed. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the incident did not occur.
The West Bend Police Department takes all complaints of stalking and human trafficking seriously and thoroughly investigates those reports. We remind all citizens to be aware of their surroundings and report all criminal and suspicious behavior to the police.
