VIDEO | Interfaith Caregivers volunteer driver Lee Harmon knocks down 100,000 miles helping others

West Bend, Wi – Interfaith Caregivers of Washington County has a special volunteer driver, Lee Harmon, who has collected more than 100,000 miles helping others.

Harmon, 84, was recognized during this year’s Judy Phillips Influencer in Aging event.

This November 2025, Harmon will celebrate his 12-year anniversary as a volunteer with Interfaith Caregivers.

“I just love people, and I love to drive and they’re all my age,” he said.

Harmon is at Interfaith almost daily, driving those in need to doctor appointments and down to the V.A. in Milwaukee. Clients have developed a strong fondness for Harmon, who gets them there in a timely fashion, wheels them in, and then is there waiting when the appointment is over to drive home.

“They call us angels and some of my passengers say we’re ‘sent from God.’  I say I’m not an angel… the ladies back in the office are the angels, all we do is drive,” he said.

Harmon is retired; he spent 45 years of his life as a tool and die maker.  His wife has passed and Interfaith and its clients are now his family. “I absolutely love it,” he said.
