March 24, 2025 – Fond du Lac Co., WI – On March 24, 2025, at approximately 6:54 a.m., a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a car in the ditch near STH 23 and Willow Road in the Town of Ripon.
Upon arrival, a deputy observed the vehicle in the ditch adjacent to a driveway to a residence. The vehicle was determined to belong to the owner of that residence.
The owner of the vehicle was located outside of the car and deceased. The Sheriff’s Office is working with the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner to determine the circumstances and cause of death.
The status of this investigation is ongoing.
UPDATE : The Sheriff’s Office along with the Medical Examiner’s Office continued the investigation into the afternoon. The circumstances surrounding the death are being classified as a medical incident not related to the vehicle leaving the roadway and entering the ditch. No foul play is suspected. This incident remains under investigation.
