July 26, 2026 – Village of Jackson, WI – An explosion in neighboring Ozaukee County, WI, has hit home in the Village of Jackson as one person involved in the incident is a Lieutenant with the Jackson Police Department. Michael Foeger, 54, and his father, Karl, 82, were critically injured following an explosion Saturday morning in the 2300 block of Brandt Drive in the Town of Cedarburg. Both are being treated at St. Mary’s Regional Burn Center in Milwaukee.

July 25, 2026 – Town of Cedarburg, Wi – At approximately 11:48 a.m. Ozaukee County Dispatch Center received several reports of an explosion in the 2300 block of Brandt Drive in the Town of Cedarburg. It was reported there was a fire with a large amount of black smoke coming from the area.
Deputies arrived on scene at approximately 1155am. Two victims were identified, a 54-year-old male and an 82-year-old male, both from the Town of Cedarburg.
Both victims received critical injuries and were transported to Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Regional Burn Center in Milwaukee. A dog was also injured in the blast and was taken to an animal hospital.
The explosion occurred in an outbuilding. The building is described as a metal shed-type structure. The building was a total loss.
It is unknown what caused the explosion. The investigation remains active and all possibilities are being investigated. The State Fire Marshall will be assisting with the investigation.

The intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Brandt Drive remains closed as the investigation continues. Anyone who lives in the area is able to get to their residences.
