October 25, 2020 – Hartford, WI – John Joseph Priesgen, 83, of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away in the comfort of his home Friday, October 23, 2020.

John was born June 20, 1937 in Richfield, WI to Anna M. (nee Meyer) and Benjamin Priesgen. He was united in marriage to Janice R. Hermann on February 6, 1960 in Milwaukee, WI.

John worked 44 years at Mercury Marine. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, golfing, fishing, hunting, time with his hunting dogs. John also enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, and especially loved softball. John had a great sense of humor that will be missed.

John is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 60 years, Janice Priesgen; loving children, John Raymond Priesgen, Philip Russell Priesgen, and Ruthanne (Michael) Alolor; cherished grandchildren, Mitchell Vince Priesgen, Amanda Marie (Casey) Krieger, Justin Michael Alolor, Danielle Theresa Priesgen, and Dawn Marie Priesgen; treasured great-grandsons, Brody and Hayden; dear sisters, Isabelle Butler and Cecilia Ramer; dear siblings-in-law, Russell (Sally) Hermann and Deborah Pohlmann. He is further survived by other loved relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Anna Carroll, Elizabeth Faith, Bernard Priesgen, and Virginia Rulo; and brothers-in-law, David and Dennis Hermann.

Funeral Services for John will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 3 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027. Family will greet relatives and friends following the services, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Private interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford, WI.
