VIDEO | 3 gold-medal finishes again for Jordan Stolz at World Speed Skating Championships in Calgary

February 18, 2024 – Kewaskum, Wi – It’s three gold medals and three top finishes at the World Speed Skating Championships for Jordan Stolz of Kewaskum, WI.  This is the second year in a row the 19-year-old completed the clean sweep.


The “freaky stuff” wrapped up Sunday afternoon as Stolz collected his third gold in the 1500m in Calgary with a time of 1:41.44. Stolz was 1.22 seconds faster than Olympic gold medalist Kjeld Nuis.

While Stolz set new track records in the 500m and 1000m in Calgary, he just missed the 2017 record in the 1500m set by Denis Yuskov at 1:41.33.

Next up, Stolz will compete in the Allround World Championships, March 9 and 10, in Inzell, Germany.

February 18, 2024 – Kewaskum, WI – Speed skating phenom Jordan Stolz of Kewaskum, Wi is eyeing a three-peat at the World Speed Skating Championships in Calgary. Stolz locked in a pair of track records in the 500 meter and the 1000-meter events. He skates just after 5 p.m. in the 1500m. Click below to watch live.

On Saturday, Stolz climbed atop the 1st-place spot on the podium as he secured another gold-medal finish in the 1000-meter. Stolz finished in 1:06.05, more than :48 ahead of silver medalist Zhongyan Ning of China. Stolz also set a new track record in Calgary, topping the previous record of 1:06.49 set in 2020 by Pavel Kulizhnikov of Russia.

Stolz will race today in the 10th pairing. His personal best in the 1500m is 1:40.87. The track record in Calgary is 1:41.33 and the world record is 1:40.17.

February 17, 2024 – Kewaskum, WI – Speedskater Jordan Stolz, 19, of Kewaskum set a new track record in the 500-meter racing during the World Championships in Calgary.
Stolz went up against one of the top skaters on the circuit and a local favorite in Calgary as Laurent Dubreuil, 31, was skating on home ice.

At the gun both skaters got off to a strong start and matched in the first turn at 9.45 seconds.

Stolz picked up steam at 61.6 km/h which equals about 38 miles per hour. Dubreuil’s was just below that at 59.6 km/h.

Stolz beat his previous best 500m time of 33.96 and he beat the previously held track record of 33.77 set in 2021 by Dubreuil.

At the finish Stolz crossed in record time of 33.69, just missing the world record of 33.61 set in 2019 by Pavel Kulizhnikov of Russia.

Stolz is slated to skate in the 1000m on Saturday at 2:48 p.m. and the 1500m on Sunday at 4:03 p.m.
