2 incumbents run uncontested for Kewaskum School Board

January 4, 2024 – Kewaskum, Wi – There are two seats up for election April 2, 2024 on the Kewaskum School Board and it appears the incumbents have the edge.

Kewaskum School District

Ric Leitheiser and Jim Leister will be on the ballot and they will be uncontested.

Details below are from the district’s Lisa Heiser.

The Ballot Draw was completed on January 3, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at the District Office, 1455 School Street, Kewaskum, WI by Patty Schreiber, Julie Thoreson, and Lisa Heiser. Patty Schreiber held the basket of names, Julie Thoreson drew each name and Lisa Heiser recorded the order drawn. Stephanie Bird and Mark Bazata were also present for the draw.

The official order for the 2024 Spring Election (April 2, 2024) ballot is:

Village of Kewaskum
There are four trustee seats up for election in April 2024 on the Kewaskum Village Board. Richard Knoebel, Justin Weninger and Marnie Parse are the incumbents. Bret Klapper currently serves on Plan Commission and Mary Schlitt ran in 2022. There is also a vacant seat to be filled that carries a 1-year term; that opened in 2023 following the resignation of Nate Wendelborn who became the new Village administrator in Newburg, WI.

There will be no primary needed for the April 2, 2024 election. Each seat carries a 3-year term.

There will be a drawing held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, in the lobby of the Educational Service Center on S. Main Street to determine ballot order. There are four candidates running for two seats in the West Bend School District.

The odd-numbered districts are up for election in April 2024. Three out of the four districts will have a contested race.
Slinger School District
There are two seats up for election in April 2024 on the Slinger School Board. Three candidates filed to run including:
Ken Strupp
Cherie Rhodes
Bill Brewer
The drawing for ballot order will be held Monday, January 8, 2024.
