June 21, 2026 – Kewaskum, Wi – On Sunday, June 21, 2026, at approximately 7:55 a.m., the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Highway V and Mill Pond Road in the Town of Auburn.

The caller, a passenger in one of the involved vehicles, reported that a vehicle had pulled into the path of another vehicle and that one of the drivers was trapped and had sustained a head injury.
Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, along with personnel from Campbellsport Fire Department and Campbellsport Ambulance, responded to the scene. Due to the number of injured parties, additional assistance was requested from City of Fond du Lac Ambulance and West Bend Ambulance.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle traveling southbound on Mill Pond Road failed to yield the right-of-way to a vehicle traveling northbound on County Highway V, resulting in a collision.
The operator of the southbound vehicle, a 21-year-old Campbellsport man, suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. A passenger in that vehicle, a 20-year-old Kewaskum man, was treated for minor injuries and released at the scene.
The operator of the northbound vehicle, a 68-year-old Kewaskum woman, suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital. While preparations were being made for transfer to ThedaStar Medical Transport, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
A passenger in the northbound vehicle, a 16-year-old female from Kewaskum, suffered minor injuries and was transported to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital for treatment.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The operator of the southbound vehicle was arrested on suspicion of Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle and was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail.
County Highway V was closed between Haven Drive and Century Drive for approximately 90 minutes while emergency personnel investigated the scene and cleared the roadway.
